Description:
Greensort Zig Zag Air Separator is a high-performance cascade separator for the separation of light and heavy fractions from dry, free-flowing bulk materials. It is based on the principle of multi-pass cross-flow separation, in which air is introduced from below into a zig-zag shaped channel. This allows light particles to be carried upward, while heavier components fall downward.

Special design:

GREENSORT Zig-Zag Air Separator is a high-performance, dry-processing system that separates materials based on density. Using a combination of gravity and upward airflow, it efficiently splits bulk streams (ASR material or Aluminum scrap or other scrap material)into distinct "light" and "heavy" fractions with up to 99.8% efficiency.
Multi-Stage Separation: The core of the machine consists of a vertical zig-zag channel. As material cascades down, it must repeatedly cross an upward flow of air. This allows the GREENSORT separator to achieve multiple classification stages in a single pass, drastically improving material purity without secondary equipment
Material Flow: Bulk material enters the zig-zag channel through a rotary valve. Heavier/denser materials sink by gravity, while lighter fractions are captured by the air stream and carried to the top
Operation Modes: The unit can be operated in exhaust air or closed-loop recirculation mode. For dusty materials, it is typically paired with a downstream filter system or a cyclone separator
Maintenance & Adjustments: Designed for minimal wear, the internal chamber has no rotating parts. Fan speeds are controlled via a frequency converter, and the separator includes maintenance doors on both sides
