Drum Magnetic Separator Description:
The GREENSORT Drum magnetic separator is a high-performance permanent magnetic separation(Electromagnet drum magnetic separator also available) equipment, It is widely used for ferrous metal removal from shredded materials such as auto scrap, steel scrap, incinerator bottom ash, construction waste, WEEE and household appliance fragments.
Different from conventional magnetic drums, this model adopts an upward attraction design. The magnetic system is installed above the material flow, pulling ferrous metals upward from the material bed to separate ferrous contaminants from non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminium) and non-metallic materials. It serves as the critical pre-treatment unit of complete metal recycling lines.

Main Structure
1. Drum Shell Wear-resistant stainless steel shell with high-grade NdFeB permanent magnet assembly inside. Optimized magnetic angle ensures strong upward attraction and smooth self-discharge of ferrous materials. The shell surface is treated for anti-abrasion to withstand impact from coarse shredded materials.
2. Drive Assembly Consists of three-phase asynchronous motor and K-series helical-bevel gear reducer. High torque and strong shock resistance for heavy-duty operation in recycling plants. Rotating speed can be adjusted to match conveyor speed.

3. Steel Frame Integrated welded steel support frame with adjustable mounting bases and maintenance platforms. Modular design allows convenient hoisting and direct installation above belt conveyors.
4. Protective Housing Yellow safety guards for transmission components to prevent collision damage from bulk materials.
5. Diverting Mechanism Ferrous metals stuck to the drum surface rotate away from the magnetic zone, lose magnetic attraction and fall off automatically for separate collection.

Working Principle:
Materials travel on the belt conveyor and pass underneath the magnetic drum. The permanent magnet system generates an upward magnetic field. Ferrous scraps (iron, steel) are attracted upward and adhere to the rotating drum shell. Non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminium), plastics and minerals are unaffected by magnetism and continue moving forward to the downstream eddy current separator. As the drum rotates, captured ferrous materials move to the non-magnetic area and drop down, achieving continuous separation of ferrous and non-ferrous fractions.
