Equipment Introduction

X Ray Sorter Description:
GREENSORT XRT transmission sorter adopts over-beam X-ray detection architecture: the X-ray source is installed above the conveyor belt, while the X-ray detector array (X-ray camera) is arranged underneath the belt. The system differentiates materials by density based on X-ray penetration signals, achieving automatic separation of heavy metals, light metals, stones and other inert impurities.
It is widely deployed in Zorba recycling, ASR treatment, incineration bottom ash processing and Aluminu scrap recycling.

Structure Composition:
1) Feeding & Conveying Unit Consists of vibration spreading feeder and high-speed flat conveyor belt. Uniformly spread materials into single layer to avoid overlapping, ensuring stable feeding for accurate detection.
2) X-ray Emission Unit Mounted on the upper section of the sealed cabinet. X-ray source emits penetrating X-ray vertically downwards through materials and conveyor belt. Equipped with radiation shielding structure to meet safety requirements.
3) X-ray Detection Unit (X-ray Camera) Installed below the conveyor belt. High-resolution linear detector array receives transmitted X-ray signals and converts penetration data into digital imaging for material identification.
4) Intelligent Control System Industrial controller and image processing module analyse material density features, calculate material position and moving speed in real time, and send ejection instructions.
5) Pneumatic Ejection Unit High-speed precision nozzle array located at the belt discharge end. Triggered synchronously to blow target materials into designated material bins.
6) Fully Sealed Protective Cabinet Integrated radiation shielding, dustproof and noise reduction enclosure. Access doors and maintenance panels are reserved for daily inspection and component replacement.

Working Principle:
Mixed materials are evenly distributed onto the conveyor belt and transported steadily through the detection zone.
1.The X-ray source mounted above the conveyor emits penetrating X-rays downward through the materials and the belt.
2.The high-resolution X-ray camera installed below the belt receives transmitted X-ray signals. The system analyses density differences to distinguish heavy metals, light metals and non-metallic impurities.
3.The control system calculates the real-time position and moving speed of detected materials.
4.Precision pneumatic nozzles are triggered at accurate timing to blow out target materials, realizing continuous automatic classification.

How XRT Sorting Works
X-ray Generation: High-energy X-rays pass through moving material streams on a fast conveyor belt.
Density Detection: Sensors measure how much radiation is absorbed, which depends on the atomic number and density of the particles.
Pneumatic Separation: Fast computer processors analyze the data instantly and trigger precise bursts of compressed air to deflect specific target materials into separate bins
Performance:
Scrap aluminum shall be sifted into 10-100mm, and screening efficiency should not less than 95%. Materials shall be evenly spread on the high-speed transmission belt of the seller's equipment without obvious stacking. The heavy metal mixed is less than 5%. The X ray sorter can get up to 95% separation ratio. which means 2kg heavy metals we can remove1.9kg metals.
